Poetry Slam at MOD Coffee House

MOD Coffee House and Resource and Crisis Center have teamed up to create a memorable evening of poetry to raise awareness on a topic that can be difficult to talk about, sexual violence.  April is sexual assault prevention and awareness month and this event hopes to bring this issue to the community in a way that is unique and inspired, as well as, getting information to community.  RCC thanks MOD for their participation in this event that affects so many in our community.

Chalk Walk 2013

This event is held in commemoration of child abuse prevention month.  Court Appointed Special Advocates, a program of the Resource and Crisis Center of Galveston County, invites the community to chalk the sidewalks outside of the Galveston County Courthouse with pictures and logos in support of child abuse prevention awareness.  This is a family friendly event that is great for the kids!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Take Back the Night Rally

Over 50% of all sexual assaults that occur in the United States are not reported.  Take Back the Night is a movement to bring awareness and change to end sexual violence of all kinds.  The Resource and Crisis Center invites all to join us as we light-up the night with glow sticks during a walk along the seawall in support of survivors throughout the community!
